• Shelly has been working with dogs since 1980, as the neighborhood dog walker & trainer. She started to learn grooming in 1985, working for local Newburyport area groomers.

• Jenn grew up with dogs in the household & started in the pet industry in 2008. She then went to a grooming school in 2010. After working with local groomers, and meeting Shelly, we opened New England Grooming Salon in 2015.

• Over the years we have continued our grooming education by attending seminars & workshops, as well as developing a vast resource in the grooming industry by befriending groomers from around the world.

OUR TIPS

​WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS AT THIS TIME

• Most pets should have their nails trimmed every 4-8 weeks

• Most pets should be brushed out frequently

• Flea & Tick prevention is essential to your pet's health

​

• Daily dental care is essential to your dog's good health. Just like us, they need their teeth brushed daily. You can also provide a water additive & chew toy in lieu of brushing.
  

• When getting a new puppy, that will need grooming, start them off gradually. Bring them in for an introduction to the salon. Let the groomers love on them while they are on the table & go through the steps with them, so they learn it's nothing to be afraid of. Over time, the more frequently they come in for these things the better will their experience be while at the groomers.
